The National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board and IIIT Hyderabad brings the Startup Challenge as part of the Geospatial Hackathon with an intention of promoting the use of geospatial technologies in solving real world problems and fostering innovation in the Indian geospatial ecosystem.

The Startup Challenge provides the participants with a flexibility to work on problems of their choice and solve it using geospatial technologies. Students, Innovators, Researchers, Working Professionals, Startups and Entrepreneurs are welcome to apply and take part in this online hackathon.

Not sure where to start? Here are some use cases

  • Services Industry: Aerial photography can be used by insurance companies to assess the risk of a property being damaged by fire or flood or to identify false claims. Based on physical signs, geospatial technology can predict when an insurance should take effect.
  • FarmTech/Supply Chain: Geospatial technology can also close visibility gaps in the supply chain by allowing businesses to see where raw materials are coming from, the routes taken by factories, farms, and warehouses, as well as their current status, allowing them to identify and address potential problems before they become serious.
  • Urban Planning: Geospatial technologies can scan a wide area to give insights on the state of crime, education and health. This data can be reference to improve the efficiency of urban planning.
