The Hackathon

A hybrid incubation-hackathon program dedicated to transforming real-world clinical challenges into breakthrough health-tech solutions. Organized jointly by Department of Dentistry @ AIIMS Bibinagar and CIE-IIIT Hyderabad, this initiative is designed as a grassroots social innovation platform that brings together the clinical community to ideate, prototype, and pitch solutions driven by artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.

The hackathon fosters frontline-led innovation by empowering doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals with the tools and frameworks to design, build, and scale medical innovations that matter.

The AI-Med Hackathon aims to:

  • Build a problem-solution mindset among medical practitioners.
  • Catalyze idea generation for clinical tools, devices, diagnostics, and care models.
  • Enable co-creation with IIIT-H faculty, researchers, and startups.
  • Offer continued incubation for top ideas through mentorship and support infrastructure.

Who Should Apply?

  • Doctors, Medical Faculty, Junior and Senior Med Researchers
  • Nursing Faculty, Officers, and Students
  • Clinicians with innovative ideas in health-tech or clinical processes
  • Individuals or Teams (1–3 members) from the healthcare ecosystem

What’s in it for you?

Participants will receive individual mentoring to refine their healthcare innovation ideas, along with access to proven tools, methods, and frameworks used in clinical innovation. The program also offers a unique opportunity to co-create solutions with research faculty at IIIT-H. The top five ideas will be selected for continued support through a structured joint development track, enabling further incubation and growth.
