CIE brings to our Deeptech community,
Fire Up Founder Insights series 7th edition, hosted by our COO, Mr. Ramesh Loganathan. The series is brought to you as a part of Startup Gyan Blog series by CIE-IIITH where we feature our founders and talk about their Startup status and the journey so far through conversation on specific topics useful for other Deeptech startups and the community at large.
In Conversation with Shivi, founder Empathy Design Labs:
“Mothers are the only un-skilled link in the chain when it comes to pregnancy and largely depends on their instincts”
Started in 2015, as a part of SIIP fellowship by BIRAC, Empathy Design labs is a project turned Startup. The team is developing a non-invasive and wearable pregnancy monitor for daily monitoring of pregnancy. This provides alerts and suggestions for expecting parents for timely action. The product is at MVP stage and is expected to be launched in another 6 months.
The team is looking at solving the problems around pregnancy, particularly stillbirths and mental health. The idea of building a preventive device came from the rising trend of wearables which are mostly preventive and proactive in tracking and monitoring the phenomenon.
The Technology
The product is called Kriya and it is a wearable patch enabled with IoT, feeding data to an AI layer. The data feed consist of natal and pre-natal data; Foetal health, physical and mental health of the mother along with her medical history.
The Growth Hack tip:
