OJAS Post-Doc Entrepreneurship Program
OJAS PEP Program is for scientists completing their Ph.D.s, MBBS Graduates, MS Doctors, Post Graduates with experience in research and wanting to pursue an entrepreneurial career. The program offers post-doctoral training focused on building a solution (device, app, digital tool) to address problems in disease detection, diagnosis, prevention, treatment, monitoring or wellness.
The scientist will need to select a professor from IIIT, who will guide the work. The Ph.D. supervisor of the candidate can also be a collaborator for the project, if the product idea is based on the candidate’s thesis work. A stipend will be provided for 12 months, and can be extended to another 12 months.
At the end of this period, the scientist is expected to incorporate a company and take the product forward. Seed funding up to Rs 25 lakhs will be available to the company upon incorporation. In parallel, the entrepreneur will have access to a network of investors through Ojas, to raise equity capital.
