Hackathon

OJAS PEP
PROGRAM

1 Year Fellowship program for researchers/medical professionals to build entrepreneurial career in healthcare sector.

DST in partnership with IIIT Hyderabad and Microsoft is happy to announce the Geospatial Hackathon. A hackathon to create interest in geospatial tech and specifically build solutions leveraging maps and satellite data for solving India’s problems. Geospatial Technology is rapidly emerging as one of the most fascinating areas of technological innovation. GeoSpatial technology describes information that is obtained from images or data that is connected to a specific location, typically captured using sensors mounted on ground/ Aerial /satellite based platform and analysed by powerful computers. The Geospatial Hackathon will be divided into 2 parts, Research Challenge and Startup Challenge.

Registrations Start By: 25th Dec 2022

The Challenges

Startup Challenge

NSTEDB and IIIT Hyderabad brings the Startup Challenge as part of the Geospatial Hackathon with an intention of promoting the use of geospatial technologies in solving real world problems and fostering innovation in the Indian geospatial ecosystem. The Startup Challenge provides the participants with a flexibility to work on problems of their choice and solve it using geospatial technologies.

Research Challenge

The Research Challenge is specific to the problem statements given by the NSTEDB. NSTEDB is proposing a Geospatial Data Processing, Solution development, and Servicing Challenge to foster the adoption of geospatial technologies and to promote innovation in India’s Geospatial ecosystem.

Hackathon Process

Teams will register and then submit their hackathon idea along with the details.

The idea for the hackathon to be submitted by each team. It may include an idea brief, elements of solution, technology/tools to be used in building it, key implementation steps , UI screen layout and/or data/DB structures and such.

The hackathon is divided into 2 stages. The first stage, the idea stage will have a basic POC submitted. The shortlisted submissions will proceed to the next round which is the hackathon build stage.

Idea Stage submission

Basic prototype

Teams must submit a basic prototype of their idea. Based on which they will be considered for final phase of hackathon.

Idea Stage selection

After the platform does auto screening for completeness and such, the prototypes are reviewed and Teams will be selected for the final round.

The idea, design, and the prototype will be the basis for the selection.

Finalists notified for stage 2 (Hackathon Build stage)

Hackathon Build Stage

Teams will be informed and given time to build their hackathon solutions.

Hackers will be provided free access to Azure sandbox worth $ 100 by Microsoft. Hackers to develop their solutions on Microsoft Azure or other Microsoft tools including, GitHub, VS code, PowerPlatform.

Solutions to be uploaded on Github and submission link to be shared.

Final winners to be selected.
